Post Module #7f - Campaign budgeting
on: March 18, 2011, 11:25

You, the honorable Moe, set the campaign budget at $50 per day and $1500 for the month. I realize you said that you will not spend anywhere near that but still it seems like a lot of money. Is it likely that I can budget my first survey to come under the $130 mark ? And, if so, what would I input into the daily and monthly boxes ? Is there a ballpark figure(daily, monthly) that I can expect to pay on my first survey ?

And related to this, the default bid (max CPC) you went with was $0.50. How about if I went with $0.25 on my campaign, would this be advisable ? I want to spend as little as possible but not limit the effectiveness of the campaign.

Thanks, Alwyn

Hi Alwyn – the questions you’re asking are massively niche- and keyword-specific, so there’s no way I can ballpark them (keep in mind that cost-per-click ranges from $0.05 to $50 per click, depending on the niche and target keywords).

Bottom line: you could go with $0.25 for your campaign and get #1 placement (and therefore lots of impressions and clicks), or get placed on page 5 (and get no impressions or clicks). It completely depends on the CPC of the niche and keywords you’re targeting.

Alles gut ! I think I’m gonna go for stg between $0.25 and $0.50 (max CPC) and this will, in itself, keep my daily and monthly costs low.

Danke, Alwyn
